A mother’s efforts to inspire her son’s piano playing led them to attend a concert by the famous pianist Ignacy Paderewski. As they settled into their seats, the mother stepped away to catch up with a friend in the audience. The young boy took the opportunity to explore the concert hall on his own. Eager to see everything the hall had to offer, he stumbled upon a door marked “NO ADMITTANCE” and walked right through it and onto the stage.
The house lights were beginning to dim as the mother returned to her seat, only to find that her son was nowhere to be found. Suddenly, the curtains parted, and spotlights focused on the grand Steinway piano on stage, revealing the mother’s worst fear — her son was seated at the piano, trying to play “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star.”
As Paderewski took the stage, he noticed the young boy, and instead of shooing him away, he approached the boy and whispered, “Don’t quit. Keep playing.” To everyone’s surprise, the master pianist then joined in, adding a bass part with his left hand and an obligato with his right. The beautiful duet of the old master and young novice captivated the audience and turned an otherwise embarrassing situation into an inspirational musical moment.
The audience was mesmerized by the performance of the two musicians playing “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star.” The young boy’s confidence grew with each note, and Paderewski’s experience and expertise elevated the piece to new heights. The concertgoers were so captivated by this special moment that they couldn’t recall any other pieces performed that evening, only the beautiful duet between the old master and the young novice.

On our own, we may struggle to achieve significant results, but with God’s help, we can accomplish beautiful things. As you set out to do great things, trust in His presence, feel His loving embrace and listen to His encouragement to keep going. Remember that God equips those He calls, and He will always be there to love and guide you.

Lord, thank You for always being with me. Help me to trust in Your presence and feel Your loving embrace. As I set out to accomplish great things, give me the strength to keep going, even when the task seems insurmountable. I know that with Your help, my limited efforts can become a true masterpiece.
